The active material for a battery according to the present invention is an amorphous silicon-based material containing elements including Si, O, and C and has a ratio (A/B) between a total value A of respective peak integral values attributed to SiO2C2 and SiO3C and a peak integral value B attributed to SiO4 of 0.5 or more and 5.0 or less in a chemical shift range of 20 ppm to -150 ppm in a solid-state 29Si-NMR spectrum. |
