The method for device control may be applied to an electronic device with a touch display screen and may include the following. An icon identifying a window mode is displayed when a first gesture including a preset trigger gesture is received. A target window mode is determined according to an icon corresponding to a gesture end position of the first gesture. Information of a target application is displayed in the target window mode.
