Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to novel proteins that specifically bind to the spike protein or domains thereof of the severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARS-Cov-2) or variants of SARS-Cov-2. The proteins of the present invention represent advanced and powerful tools, for example for the purification of the virus or a vaccine for the virus, by virtue of said binding affinity for spike protein or domains of the spike protein of SARS-Cov-2 or variants thereof. Thus, the novel proteins of the present invention are particularly advantageous because they allow precise capturing of proteins or particles comprising spike proteins, S1 domain, and/or RBD in affinity chromatography. Further, the novel proteins of the present invention can be used in medical applications caused by or related to SARS-Cov-2 or variants thereof.
