The invention relates, inter alia, to a pushing drum (10) for the tobacco-processing industry, comprising a drum body (12) with receiving cavities (14) arranged successively in a row in the circumferential direction of the drum body (12) for rod-shaped articles (A) from the tobacco-processing industry, the receiving cavities (14), at least in a conveying region of the rod-shaped articles (A) on the pushing drum (10), being delimited laterally by a stop barrier (22, 122), which has a stop face for the rod-shaped articles (A), the stop face of the stop barrier (22, 122) facing towards the articles (A) arrangeable or arranged in the receiving cavities (14), the stop face of the stop barrier (22, 122) being the same size as or greater than the cross-sectional face of the rod-shaped articles (A) facing towards the stop barrier (22, 122) and/or the stop face of the stop barrier (22, 122) being the same size as or greater than the cavity cross-sectional area of the receiving cavities (14) facing towards the stop barrier (22, 122), and an airflow channel (24, 124) formed with a curvature being provided in the region of the stop barrier (22, 122) in such a way that air conveyable or conveyed from the receiving cavities (14) is conducted or conductable around the stop barrier (22, 122).
