Zusammenfassung:	An overhead transport system includes an overhead transport vehicle having a traveling unit and a body section, and a control unit. The traveling unit includes traveling wheels. The rails include a plurality of straight rails and a plurality of intersection rails. The straight rails and the intersection rails are alternately arranged with a gap in each of the first direction and the second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The control unit executes steering control for steering the traveling wheels in a state in which each of the four traveling wheels is positioned on one of the intersection rails different from one another. The steering center of the traveling wheel under the steering control is provided so as to be positioned inward the body section from a ground contact point of the traveling wheel on the intersection rail.
