Zusammenfassung:	Provided is a pneumatic tire that can provide satisfactorily-maintained steering stability and ride comfort at high speeds while reducing road noise. A belt cover layer (8) made of a cover cord spirally wound along a tire circumferential direction is provided on an outer circumferential side of a belt layer (7) in a tread portion (1). The cover cord uses a polyethylene terephthalate fiber cord having an elongation under a load of 2.0 cN/dtex at 100°C of from 2.0% to 4.0%, and a side reinforcing layer formed by arranging a plurality of reinforcing cords and covering the plurality of reinforcing cords with rubber is provided in regions from bead portions to sidewall portions.
