The cleaning device (110) comprises at least one cleaning chamber (122) and at least one application device (128) for applying at least one cleaning fluid to the items (112) to be cleaned in the cleaning chamber (122). The cleaning device (110) also comprises at least one door (114) for closing at least one opening (158) of the cleaning chamber (122). The door (114) comprises at least one folding door (144) which is connected to a housing (120) of the cleaning device (110) via at least one hinge part (152). In a first pivoting movement (164), the folding door (144) can be pivoted from a closed position (156) about at least one pivot axis (160) into an intermediate position (162). In a second pivoting movement (172), the folding door (144) can also be pivoted from the intermediate position (162) about the pivot axis (160) into a final position (174). The door (114) also comprises a sliding door (146), which is coupled to the folding door (144) and is connected to the folding door (144) via at least one lever system (148). The lever system (148) is articulated to each of the sliding door (146) and the folding door (144). At least one further joint (198) is provided in the lever system (148) between the articulated connections to the sliding door (146) and the folding door (144).
