Zusammenfassung:	The invention is about a method to provide information to enable an optimized control of a technical system, in particular a vessel. First, values are necessary from different sources of the technical system. With the values an actual dataset is provided. The values are transferred into usable data, wherein an actual parameter as a requested performance of the technical system and an actual condition as achievement of a target is necessary. New datasets are stored into a database.To enable providing useful information to the operator, the database is split into ranges according to categories as section of the parameter. Each range is analysed to define a subset with those datasets having the best conditions within the range.
