Disclosed by the embodiments of the present application are a network connection method and device for a training participant end of a common training model, wherein the training participant end uses a master-worker mode. A specific embodiment of the method comprises: obtaining communication state information of a worker node, wherein the communication state information is used to indicate a communication connection stage in which the node is in; obtaining communication state information of a target worker node as target communication state information, wherein the target worker node comprises a peer node corresponding to the worker node, and the peer node belongs to different training participants of a common training model; in response to determining that the target communication state information does not match the communication state information of the worker node, resetting the communication connection stage that the worker node is in. The foregoing embodiment can as much as possible reduce the amount of data loss caused by network failure.
