Zusammenfassung:	With the invention according to the claims, sustainable systems, following the principles of green chemistry, are provided for corrosion inhibition in the handling and processing of metals (in particular iron, aluminium and magnesium) in the form of acidic phosphonic acid. These can be used, (optionally neutralised with amines), in particular, in aqueous or oil-based cooling lubricants. The phosphonic acids according to the invention contain a terpene group, a terpenoid or a fatty acid group as an organic part and can be produced from the corresponding natural materials in simple methods with good yield. In the grey cast iron chip test according to DIN 51360-2 and a staining test, the phosphonic acids according to the invention have consistently shown good characteristics and, together with suitable amines for neutralisation, systems are provided for corrosion inhibition which are entirely derived from renewable sources.
