Embodiments provide lithium-ion batteries comprising an anode that includes 30 to 85 wt. % silicon, thereby facilitating high energy density and high N:P ratio for the lithium-ion batteries. The high N:P ratio further enables fast charging and low temperature charging capabilities of the lithium-ion batteries.
