Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a method for the formation of contacts (1, 2) of a vacuum switching device (100), having the following steps: S1) generating an electric arc between the surfaces of the contacts (1, 2) by way of a DC current source for a first duration; S2) extinguishing the electric arc by reducing the current strength of the DC current source; and S3) subsequently applying an AC voltage to the contacts (1, 2) for a second duration. The present invention also relates to a vacuum switching device (100) that is configured so as to perform the method.
