Zusammenfassung:	According to the invention, in order to provide a current conversion unit, in particular for a coating system for coating workpieces, which is simply constructed and allows for efficient current conversion, the current conversion unit comprises the following: an input for connecting the current conversion unit to a supply current source; an output for connecting the current conversion unit to one or more consumers, in particular to one or more electrodes; a circuit breaker; and an isolation transformer for galvanically separating the input from the output; wherein the circuit breaker is connected to the input on the input side and connected to the isolation transformer on the output side, and wherein the isolation transformer is connected to the circuit breaker on the input side and connected to the output on the output side.
