Zusammenfassung:An aerosol generating apparatus according to an embodiment may include a housing; a heater configured to heat an aerosol generating material inserted into the housing; an optical sensor configured to sense an optical signal reflected from a user's hand; and a processor configured to: obtain fingerprint information of a user from the optical signal sensed by the optical sensor, determine whether the user is authorized to use the aerosol generating apparatus based on the obtained fingerprint information, obtain heart rate information from the sensed optical signal based on the user being determined to be an authorized user, and control power supplied to the heater based on the heart rate information.
