Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a filling machine (1) for filling containers with liquid contents. The present invention is characterized in particular in that the relative motion for bringing the closing-element carrying ring (8) from the non-engaged state into the engaged state and back again is in the form of an independent stroke motion of the closing-element carrying ring (8) and a separate rotational motion of the rotor relative to the closing-element carrying ring, in each case with one or more separate rotational and stroke motion components, at least one stroke device being provided for the stroke motion components and the drive of the rotor (3) being provided for the rotational motion components.
