The invention relates to a method for producing a composite body (100) and to a composite body (100) comprising at least two thermoplastic parts to be joined (12, 14), which are connected to one another in a material-bonded manner at at least one contact surface (10), comprising applying an inductively heatable consumable welding element (50) to an outer or inner surface (20) of at least one of the parts to be joined (12) in the region of the contact surface (10), wherein the consumable welding element (50) is applied to the surface (20) by an additive process; bringing together the at least two parts to be joined (12, 14) at the contact surface (10); inductively heating the consumable welding element (50) for the purpose of at least partially melting the contact surface (10), wherein a welding temperature for connecting the at least two thermoplastic parts to be joined (12, 14) is set by means of a Curie temperature of ferromagnetic particles that are contained in the consumable welding element (50); and solidifying the melt for the purpose of establishing the material-bonded connection between the at least two parts to be joined (12, 14).
