CONTACT ELEMENT FOR AN ELECTRICAL PLUG

The invention relates to a contact element (1) for an electrical connector. Prior art solutions have the disadvantage that spring elements (9) of known geometries have to be adapted during miniaturization in order to achieve a sufficiently high normal force (F) via these spring elements (9). The invention improves known contact elements (1) for electrical connectors by designing the contact element with a base (7) and with a spring element (9) which can be deflected towards and/or away from the base (7) and is limited laterally by two side flanks (19, 21). Here, the spring element (9) has a spring base (15) at one end (13), at which it is connected to the base (7) and from which it extends away in a longitudinal direction (17), wherein a first (19) of the two side flanks is disposed closer to the base (7) than a second (21) of the two side flanks and has a length L1, wherein the second side flank (21) faces away from the first side flank (19) and has a length L2, and wherein L1 and L2 satisfy the condition L2/L1 ≥ 0.5.
