Zusammenfassung:	In a drive control method for using a driving control device to control the operation of a host vehicle by means of at least two autonomous driving modes that have different levels of driving assistance, wherein if the operation of the host vehicle is controlled by means of the first mode and a preceding vehicle that travels in front of the host vehicle is detected, the drive control device shifts the autonomous driving mode from the first mode to the second mode that has a driving assistance level that is higher than that of the first mode.
