Zusammenfassung:	System (1) and method for tracking at least one transport means (10) in a metal industrial plant. The system (1) also has at least one receiving unit (20) which is configured to receive position data from the transport means (10), wherein the transport means (10) has an electronic assembly comprising: a receiving device (11) which is configured to receive radio codes from satellites (2) of a navigation satellite system; a data processing device (13) which is configured to provide position data from the radio codes from the satellites (2); and a transmitting device (12) which is configured to transmit the position data to the receiving unit (20).
