A rigid axial shaft (92) extends from a proximal end of the frame (34) to a distal end of the frame. The impeller (50) is coupled to the rigid axial shaft (92). The rigid axial shaft includes a proximal portion (234) and a distal portion (236) which are coupled to each other via a joint (232), the proximal portion (234) and the distal portion (236) being configured to flex with respect to each other via the joint.
