Zusammenfassung:A method of a communication technique in which a fifth generation (5G) communication system for supporting more high data transmission rate after a fourth generation (4G) system converges with an internet of things (IoT) technology, and a system is provided. The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services (e.g., a smart home, a smart building, a smart city, a smart car or a connected car, healthcare, digital education, a retail business, security and safety-related services, or the like) based on a 5G communication technology and an IoT-related technology. A method performed by a terminal in a communication system, the method comprising: receiving, from a base station, a message including configuration information related to at least one band and a subcarrier spacing for each of the at least one band; receiving, from the base station, control information indicating an active band from the at least one band; and receiving, from the base station, data based on the active band, wherein the message further includes resource information for the each of the at least one band, and wherein the resource information for the each of the at least one band comprises information on frequency domain location and bandwidth for the each of the at least one band.
