AN ELECTRIC MOTOR COMPRISING A COOLING SYSTEM AND A COOLING METHOD FOR COOLING AN ELECTRIC MOTOR

An electric motor (10) comprising:- a rotor member (16) rotatably coupled to a rotation shaft (20) of longitudinal axis (X) and a surrounding stator member (18) comprising a first and a second opposite winding heads (18b,18c) having each inner and outer radially located sides,- a cooling system (CS) comprising:a cooling fluid pipe (24) arranged above the stator member and having cooling fluid projecting orifices (24a-c) for projecting cooling fluid downwardly towards the outer side (18b1) of a winding head (18b),a rotating member (26) rotatably coupled to shaft (20) and having an outer peripheral surface (26a) arranged inwardly relative to the inner side (18b2), the rotating member (26) configured to collect on its surface (26a) cooling fluid that has flown downwardly through the winding head from its outer side to its inner side and to distribute collected cooling fluid towards the latter by centrifugal force, while the rotating member (26) rotates.
