Zusammenfassung:	The present disclosure provides a detection system (100) for detecting deformations in an electric cable (250, 350), the detection system (100) comprising a number of sensor groups (101, 102, 103, 201) arranged consecutively on the electrical cable in a direction of longitudinal extension of the electrical cable, each one of the sensor groups (101, 102, 103, 201) comprising a number of shape sensors (104, 105, 204, 205, 304, 305, 310, 311), wherein the shape sensors (104, 105, 204, 205, 304, 305, 310, 311) are configured to detect a change of a shape of a cross section area of the electric cable (250, 350) at the position of the respective sensor group (101, 102, 103, 201) and to output a respective signal (106, 107). Further, the present invention provides a respective electric cable (250, 350) and a respective method.
