A specific solution is: After detecting a first operation, an electronic device starts a camera; after detecting a second operation, enters a time-lapse mode, and displays a preview interface, where the preview interface includes a first preview image; identifies a shooting scenario based on the first preview image; determines a target shooting parameter based on the shooting scenario; after detecting a third operation that a user indicates to start shooting, obtains a plurality of target photos through shooting based on the target shooting parameter; displays a shooting interface; and after detecting a fourth operation that the user indicates to stop shooting, generates a time-lapse video based on the plurality of target photos.
