Zusammenfassung:The electric cooking appliance (2) comprises: a base (3) comprising a cooking plate (6); a cover (9) hingedly mounted on the base (3) between an open position and a closed position; a support element (14) carried by the lid (9) and configured to be in a rest position and at least one support position, the support element (14) configured to come into contact with food placed on the cooking plate (6) when the lid (9) is moved from the open position to an intermediate position between the open position and the closed position, and configured to be moved by the food from the rest position to the support position when the lid (9) is moved from the intermediate position to the closed position; and a measuring device (25) configured to determine a characteristic representative of the thickness of the food placed between the cooking plate (6) and the support element (14).
