Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a device (100, 200, 300) for supporting the removal of an at least partially exposed shielding film (S) of an electrical cable (K), comprising at least one tool (1) that can be brought into contact with the cable (K) at least partially along a circumference of the shielding film, wherein a target breaking point can be created in the shielding film (S) by means of the tool (1), wherein the tool (1) is disc-shaped and is mounted such that it can rotate about a tool rotational axis (B), wherein the tool (1) can be made to move in a circular motion by means of a motor (6) of the device (100, 200, 300), about a device rotational axis (A) corresponding to the longitudinal axis of the electrical cable (K) with the shielding film (S) to be removed, and wherein the device comprises heating means (7, 30) with which the tool (1) can be heated.
