EDGE STRIP

The invention relates to an edge strip (1) for fastening to a narrow surface of a material panel (2), with a strip body (3) which has a rear face as a mounting surface for fastening to the material panel (2) and a front face as a visible face which is provided with a decoration (5). The edge strip is characterised in that the strip core (3) has a central region (3a) with a maximum thickness (D) and a width (b), in that the strip core (3) has a side region (3b) as a protrusion on both sides of the central region (3), said side region having a thickness (d), which is less than the maximum thickness (D) of the central region (3a), at least in the region adjoining the central region (3), in that the front face of the strip body (3) is provided with a decoration (5) at least in the central region (3a), preferably over the entire width (b) of the central region (3a), and in that after the fastening of the edge strip (1) on the material panel (2) the side regions or protrusions (3b) can be separated from the central region (3a) without damaging the decoration (5) in the central region (3a).
