The invention relates to a rear region arrangement of a motor vehicle body structure with a tailgate-type rear flap, comprising an underframe subassembly (10) comprising a load floor (11) and two lateral floor extensions (12), two lateral contoured subassemblies (20) each comprising a rain channel lining (21) provided with a lower leg (21B), and also a rear panel subassembly (30) comprising a rear panel lining (32) provided with two lateral portions (32B), said underframe subassembly comprising two lateral base reinforcements (14), each welded to said load floor and also to a corresponding lateral floor extension, each of said lateral contoured subassemblies comprising a flap pillar reinforcement (24) welded to the lower leg of its rain channel lining, each lateral base reinforcement being fixed rigidly, after the assembly of said subassemblies, to a corresponding flap pillar reinforcement.
