Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an acoustic shield intended to be installed under a motor vehicle engine, the shield comprising a fibrous, porous, thermocompressed body, the constituent fibres of the body being distributed according to the following percentages by weight: between 15% and 25% sound-absorbing fibres made of polyethylene terephtalate (PET) and with a titre of between 1.5 and 2 dtex; between 30% and 40% glass fibres to provide mechanical strength; between 40% and 50% polypropylene binder fibres ensuring a bond between the fibres of the body after they have melted.
