Because the packages and/or the electron beam is/are handled on a robot arm during the irradiation, the treatment process can be flexibly adapted to different packaging formats and electron beam emitters and the robot arm can be flexibly used for exchanging emitters and for the irradiation of other machine surfaces in a cleanroom environment.
