Disclosed is a lead-acid battery including a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, and an electrolyte solution, in which the positive electrode plate includes a positive current collector and a positive electrode material, the positive electrode material contains antimony in a content of less than 0.5% by mass, the negative electrode plate includes a negative electrode material, the negative electrode material contains a polymer compound, the polymer compound has a peak P1 in a range of 3.2 ppm or more and 3.8 ppm or less in a chemical shift of 1H-NMR spectrum or the polymer compound has a repeating structure of oxy C2-4 alkylene units, and a content of the polymer compound in the negative electrode material is less than 500 ppm on a mass basis.
