Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a driver information system (10) for a vehicle, wherein the driver information system (10) comprises at least one function that is able to be controlled via a user input, wherein the driver information system (10) is configured to select at least one input mode from a plurality of available input modes as an active input mode for the user input; and wherein this selection is made on the basis of at least one of the following: a) a driver state; b) a route; c) a driving autonomy level; d) a driving speed, wherein a voice input mode is selected as active input mode starting from when a minimum driving speed is reached. The invention also relates to a method for selecting such an input mode.
