Zusammenfassung:	A tool for forming a dental restoration, the tool comprising a first mold body (102) configured to provide a customized fit with at least one tooth of a patient, and a second mold body (106) configured to provide a customized fit with the at least one tooth of the patient, wherein the first mold body and second mold body are configured to combine with the at least one tooth of the patient to define a mold cavity encompassing at least a portion of a desired tooth structure of the tooth to be restored, wherein at least one of the portion of the first mold body or the portion of the second mold body comprises an overbuilt portion (1114) such that, when the portion of the first mold body abuts the portion of the second mold body, the overbuilt portion is configured to provide intimate contact between the portion of the first mold body and the portion of the second mold body.
