The application relates to an X-ray imaging unit (200) for medical imaging that comprises a column (240), a rotating part (220) comprising a first X-ray source (224) and an X-ray imaging detector unit (226), an upper shelf (250) for supporting the rotating part, and an arm (261) with an attached second X-ray source (265). The first X-ray source and the detector unit are configured to provide an image by means of at least a rotational movement (R) around a rotation axis (222) of the rotating part. The upper shelf is configured to enable the rotating part to move with respect to the upper shelf by means of a linear movement (L) and to be attached to the column with a pivoting joint (252) for enabling a pivot movement (P) of the upper shelf around the column. The rotating part is configured to be positioned by at least one of the rotational, linear, and pivot movements for providing a one-shot cephalometric image by means of the second X-ray source and the detector unit that comprises a detector configured to be used in one-shot cephalometric imaging.
