Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a a field device configuration tool (10), comprising:- a user interface (20);- a processing unit (30); and- a memory (40).The processing unit is configured to control the user interface to present information for a parameter of a field device on a display of the user interface. The user interface is configured to enable a user of the field device to input a semantic identification "ID" for the parameter of the field device. The processing unit is configured to map the semantic ID to the parameter for the field device. The processing unit is configured to save the mapping between the semantic ID and the parameter in the memory.
