Zusammenfassung:	A process chamber housing 1 for an additive manufacturing apparatus comprising a process chamber with a bottom 9, a ceiling 10 and walls 11, 12, 21, 22 jointly enclosing a volume of the process chamber 5, with a gas inlet 6 in a front wall 21 and with a gas outlet 7 in a rear wall 22 of the side walls 11, 12, 21, 22, wherein the gas inlet 6 and the gas outlet 7 are positioned at opposite sides of an opening 91 the bottom and both facing towards the each other allows for an improved removal of smoke out of the process chamber if the gas inlet 6 has a width Wi' the opening 91 has a width Ws and the gas outlet has a width Wo, obeying at least one of the relations (i) Wi ≥ Ws ± 4cm and Wo ≥ Ws ± 4cm; (ii) Wi ≥ Ws and/or Wo ≥ Ws; and/or (iii) Wi ≥ Ws + 1cm and/or Wo ≥ Ws + 1cm.
