Zusammenfassung:	There is provided a method of manufacturing a component for a wound dressing comprising the step of mechanically manipulating a yarn with a machine to form a discrete structure having a predetermined shape wherein the discrete structure is in a form suitable for incorporation into or for use as a wound dressing without changes to the dimensions of said discrete structure; components formed by the method of manufacturing the component, the use of the component in or as a wound dressing, and the use of the component or wound dressing in a method of treating a wound. The disclosed technology further relates to a machine configured to produce the component for a wound dressing according to the method; a computer program product comprising instructions to cause the machine to execute the steps of the method and a non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon the computer program product.
