HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAY

Disclosed is a head mounted display including a lens unit disposed in front of an eye of a wearer; an holographic optical element disposed on one surface or the other surface of the lens unit; and an image display unit disposed on a lateral side of the eye of the wearer and configured to output image display light. The image display unit outputs the image display light toward the holographic optical element by using at least one of a liquid crystal display panel and an organic light emitting display panel, and the holographic optical element directs the image display light, which is output from the display panel, toward the eye of the wearer through reflection using diffraction.
