DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR MEDICAL IMPLANT

A delivery system for a medical implant includes a handle housing (11), a release handle (101), a handle holder (102) and a rack (20). The handle housing (11) is a hollow tubular member defining a slot extending along an axial direction of the member. The rack (20) is received within the handle housing (11) in an orientation along the axial direction thereof so that at least some of its teeth protrude out of the slot. The handle holder (102) is fixedly disposed over the handle housing (11), and the release handle (101) is disposed over the handle housing (11) into engagement with the teeth so that the release handle (101), when rotated or axially retracted, drives the rack (20) to move distally. With this delivery system, stents of various lengths can be released by rotating and/or axially retracting the release handle. Moreover, the system allows a long release stroke length, and quick release can be achieved by axially retracting the release handle. In particular, quick and accurate release of long stents is made possible.
