Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a method for thermal control of a turbocharger, the turbocharger comprising a turbine through which exhaust gases flow and comprising a first bearing lubricated by oil circulation. Said method comprises determining a temperature threshold of the first bearing above which the oil cokes, determining a maximum duration of the engine shutdown upon a request for automatic engine shutdown, below which the temperature threshold above which the oil cokes is not reached and, following the automatic engine shutdown, automatically restarting the engine if the maximum duration is exceeded.
