Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a mould unit (8) for the continuous casting of metal products, in particular for the continuous casting of blooms, comprising a mould tube (24) with a polygonal outer cross-sectional shape and a number of corner regions (50), and also comprising a number of separate reinforcing plates (30), which are fastened to the outside of the mould tube (24) and together enclose the mould tube (24), wherein a coolant guiding gap (44) for guiding a coolant (44) is formed between each of the reinforcing plates (30) and the mould tube (24). To achieve a long service life of the mould unit (8), it is proposed that the reinforcing plates (30) are not connected to one another by screw connections at the corner regions (50) of the mould tube (24). The invention also relates to a continuous casting installation (2) with such a mould unit (8).
