The backlight includes a light guiding plate (1031), a reflector, and at least one LED assembly (1020) including an LED light source (1021), a substrate (1022), and a support plate (1023). A plurality of protrusions (1025) formed on a back cover (1050) of the liquid crystal display are configured to mate to a plurality of concave portions (1032) formed on the light guiding plate (1031), the reflector, and the LED assembly (1020) to mount the various components of the liquid crystal display onto the back cover (1050).
