Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for detecting combustion gas (11) of a heating element (32) by means of a detection means (10) in an interior (34) formed by the housing (36) of a heating device (12). The detection is carried out with a spectroscopic measuring method using a spectroscopy unit and a sensor within a housing (14) of the detection unit (10) such that when a specific threshold of the concentration of the combustion gas (11) in the interior (34) is exceeded, a warning signal is output by the detection means (10) by means of a detection means controller (19).
