METHOD FOR PREPARING A COMPOSITION AND USE OF THE COMPOSITION FOR TREATMENT OR PROPHYLAXIS OF DISEASE

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a composition of the plant Cymbidium erythraeum, suitable to influence gut microbiota composition and enzyme activity and may be used for the treatment or prophylaxis of diseases in humans, in particular for the treatment or prophylaxis of diseases related to the gut-skin axis, gut microbiota dysbiosis, and impaired or reduced function of the enzyme quinone reductase NQ01 (EC 1.6.99.2) and NQ02 (EC 1.10.5.1), e.g. due to exposure to endogenous and/or exogenous events including but not limited to chronological or accelerated aging processes. Additional substances may be added to the composition of the invention, including supernatants of microbial cultures and metabolic factors to aid the development of the beneficial microbiota and materials to aid administration to the target environment.
