The household appliance (1, 101) comprises a component (21, 102) and a controlled electric drive (40). The electric drive has: a three-phase alternating-current synchronous motor (36) excited by a permanent magnet; an actuator element, in particular in the form of a converter (41), for actuating the three-phase alternating-current synchronous motor (36); and a field orientation adjustment device (43) for actuating the actuator element. The three-phase alternating-current synchronous motor (36) comprises a stator (37) and a rotor (38) which is rotatably mounted relative to the stator (37) and is part of the component (21, 102) or is provided for driving the component (21, 102).
