SPINNING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SAME

The invention relates to a method for operating a spinning machine (1), in particular an open spinning machine. The spinning machine has a plurality of work stations (2) arranged adjacent to one other; each work station (2) has a feeding device (4) for fibrous material (7), a spinning device (3) with a spinning tool (8) for spinning the fibrous material (7) into a thread (5), and a pulling device (19) for pulling the thread (5). The spinning machine is characterized in that a precision measuring head (10) for detecting the quality of the thread (5) is arranged on at least one work station (2); at the start of a new yarn batch (18), batch-dependent optimized spinning parameters and/or batch-dependent optimized spinning tools (8) are determined at the at least one work station (2); in order to determine optimized spinning parameters and/or optimized spinning tools, at least one quality parameter of the thread (5) is detected by means of the precision measuring head (10) and the spinning parameters of the spinning device (3) are set and/or the spinning tools (8) are selected and incorporated into the spinning device (3) as a function of the detected value of the at least one quality parameter; by means of at least one control device (17), the thus determined optimized spinning parameters and/or optimized spinning tools (8) are transmitted to other work stations (2) of the spinning machine (1) which process the same yarn batch (18).
