Zusammenfassung:	A belt scraper having a scraper element to be brought into abutment with a belt. The scraper element is pivotably arranged with reference to a pivoting axis. A spring element generates a torque acting on the scraper element. A sensor for determining a pivoting angle of the scraper element is a contactless sensor with an index part and a detecting part for detecting the position of the index part. The index part is arranged, at a distance from the pivoting axis, on a movable element that is coupled to the scraper element.
