Zusammenfassung:	An electronic device for performing a control operation and a method therefor are provided. The electronic device includes a communication interface, a memory to store at least one command, and a processor connected to the communication interface and the memory. The processor is configured to, by executing the at least one command, based on usage information of a first user using the electronic device, establish a first device knowledge base by obtaining a first control condition and a first control operation preferred by a first user, based on a context corresponding to the first control condition being detected, identify whether to perform the first control operation stored in the first device knowledge base based on a basic knowledge base that stores information on the context and information on the electronic device, and based on a result of the identification, control the electronic device.
