A dust collection device (1) and method for filtering powder (24) from powder-filled air (5) in a food product processing system. The dust collection device (1) includes a venturi mixer (2) having an inlet (4) for receiving powder-filled air (5), a liquid inlet (6) for receiving liquid (7), and a nozzle (3). The nozzle (3) is arranged to eject the liquid (7) into a mixing zone (9) of the venturi mixer (2). The powder-filled air (5) and the liquid (7) meet in the mixing zone (9) to form a liquid mixture (23). The dust collection device (1) includes a chamber (13) that receives the liquid mixture (23) from the mixing zone (9), a recirculation line (30) that feeds the liquid mixture (23) back to the liquid inlet (6) of the venturi mixer (2), and an air outlet (27) that discharges air (25) from the chamber (13).
