Zusammenfassung:An improved camera system (200) includes an uncooled thermal imaging sensor (135), a rotary actuator (215), a rotary encoder (230), and a slip ring (235). The rotary actuator (215) is physically coupled to the uncooled thermal imaging sensor (135) and enables the sensor (135) to rotate a full 360 degrees any number of times relative to the system's horizontal base (240). Through the use of the slip ring (235), the sensor (135) and the sensor's wiring (210) can rotate freely without impedance. Notably, the sensor's wiring (210) can be disposed through a central through-hole (220) running the length of the rotary actuator (215). Therefore, prior to reaching the slip ring (235), the sensor (135) and its wiring (210) rotate in unison with the rotary actuator (215). The encoder (230) is structured to monitor the angular position of the sensor (135) in order to accurately determine where the sensor (135) is being aimed.
